Savannah-based entrepreneur Emily McCarthy was recently honored by LaGrange College with the 2025 Shackelford Alumni Achievement Award. Emily was recognized during the school’s Homecoming luncheon on October 17th.

Established in 1990, the award is presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves professionally and brought honor to the college. A 2004 graduate, Emily received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Photography from LaGrange College.

“I am honored to be recognized by an institution that not only helped shape my career but also provided the inspiration and direction to embrace my creative and artistic abilities,” said McCarthy.

McCarthy serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Creative Director for her women’s fashion brand Emily McCarthy. Founded in 2009, Emily McCarthy currently distributes to over 400 retailers and reaches at least 48 states within the United States with her e-commerce platform.

An active member of her community, Emily is involved with several organizations including Blood Cancer United (formerly known as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), Dress for Success, Union Mission, PACK Savannah, Buy Local, and Tharros Place.
