Georgia DOT Host Virtual Public Information Open House for SR 30 and Hodgeville Road Intersection Improvements

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, October 6th, 2025

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is seeking public comment on a proposed solution to improve operations and reduce crashes at State Route (SR) 30 and Hodgeville Road in Chatham County.

Georgia DOT is hosting a virtual Public Information Open House (PIOH) by posting information related to the proposed project on an online platform at https://sr-30-hodgeville-rd-roundabout-0018023-gdot.hub.arcgis.com/. The purpose of this internet posting is to replace an in-person meeting, while allowing the public to review the proposed project and provide feedback.

Georgia DOT proposes to replace the existing “T” intersection with a single lane roundabout and an eastbound bypass lane for SR 30 at Hodgeville Road for a project length of .6 miles. The bypass lane is needed to allow for efficient operations of the single-lane roundabout. This intersection improvement project aims to enhance safety and trip reliability during the morning and afternoon peak hours.

Georgia DOT invites you to review the materials presented on the webpage and submit comments. Comments will be accepted concerning this project through Friday, October 17, 2025. Written statements may be submitted to:
