City Prepares for Holiday Season With Annual 40-Foot Tree Installation

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, November 21st, 2025

The city will install its annual Holiday Tree on Monday, Nov. 24, bringing a festive look to downtown and marking the return of Savannah’s holiday traditions. The staging area on Bull Street between Broughton Street and Congress Lane will be fully closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the installation and will remain affected through January 2026.

Parking spaces 3412, 3411, and 3410 on Bull Street will be reserved beginning Friday, Nov. 21 for equipment staging. “No Park” signs will be posted Thursday, Nov. 20, with restrictions active Nov. 21–26. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Holiday decorating began earlier this week, and additional installations will bring temporary traffic and sidewalk impacts. The City Hall Wreath installation will take place on Monday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., requiring a sidewalk closure at Bull and Bay streets and temporary traffic control. The Ornament Stack installation in Ellis Square will occur on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., closing Barnard Street between Congress and Bryan streets and placing parking restrictions on Congress Street (Spaces 2100–2103) through Nov. 21.
