Dewitt Tilton Group Expresses Gratitude to Pooler Firefighters with Annual Thanksgiving Feast and Service Award
Monday, November 10th, 2025
For the eighth consecutive year, Dewitt Tilton Group, an award-winning design-build commercial and industrial construction company, is honored to continue its cherished Thanksgiving tradition of expressing deep appreciation for Pooler's dedicated firefighters. The company will host a catered lunch for firefighters and supported staff on Thursday, November 20, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the City of Pooler Fire-Rescue Headquarters, Station 1 (1093 S. Rogers St.).
This annual feast is a meaningful way for Dewitt Tilton Group to convey its profound gratitude and gratefulness for the sacrifices made daily by these essential first responders.
Cementing this eight-year tradition of gratitude, President and Co-founder of Dewitt Tilton Group, Chris Tilton, will present the prestigious "Built to Last" Service Award to a member of the City of Pooler Fire-Rescue team, in recognition of their steadfast bravery and service.
"Every single day, our brave firefighters put their lives on the line for our community," said Chris Tilton, President and Co-founder of Dewitt Tilton Group. "Offering them a hearty Thanksgiving meal is just a small, heartfelt gesture to recognize the magnitude of their sacrifice and unwavering service. We need to show our deep appreciation for their continuous commitment to keeping our community safe."
Joining in this expression of community appreciation is Savannah's Candy Kitchen, a local Southern tradition for over three decades. The firehouse will enjoy a generous donation of the newly introduced pie tarts the company launched through its QVC partnership.
For Savannah's Candy Kitchen, donating these specific treats is an important way to show their support.
"We are honored to join Dewitt Tilton Group in recognizing the Pooler firefighters," said Rhett Strickland of Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. "The pie tarts we're donating are an exciting new product we've introduced to a national audience via QVC, and it is incredibly important to us that we share this success and the sweetness of the holidays right here at home with the brave men and women who protect our city."
Pooler Fire Chief Wade Simmons emphasized the impact of this tradition.
“When our crews see that local businesses like Dewitt Tilton Group take the time to honor them year after year, it reminds them how much the community cares,” said Simmons. “It lifts spirits and strengthens the partnership between our department and the people we serve. We are incredibly grateful for their thoughtfulness.”
The tradition began in 2018 and deeply reflects Dewitt Tilton Group's commitment to community partnership and its enduring appreciation for the firefighters' contributions.
