November is Family Engagement Month and Savannah-Chatham Public Schools Have Big Plans!
Monday, November 3rd, 2025
Family engagement plays a vital role in fostering student success and strengthening school communities. When families are actively involved, students experience improved academic outcomes, stronger social-emotional development, and greater confidence in their learning journey. SCCPSS recognizes the importance of valuing parents as partners in education and is proud to be recognized as a Project Appleseed High Achiever in Family Engagement. This recognition highlights the district’s ongoing commitment to building meaningful connections between families, schools, and community partners to ensure every student thrives.
Throughout November, SCCPSS and community partners are hosting a series of events designed to support, empower, and celebrate families. From Grief Counseling Workshops and Mentor Meet-Ups to the 2-Mile Walk of Thanks, Scholarship Fair, and Teen Summit, there are numerous opportunities for families to connect with resources and one another. Additional events such as the Parent University and the Family Engagement Night at Groves High School provide valuable tools for parents to monitor academic progress, access community supports and enhance student learning at home. Together, these activities reflect SCCPSS’s dedication to creating a culture where families are informed, involved, and inspired to support their children’s growth and success.
