The One Savannah Treat Every Southerner Needs In Their Stocking This Year

I didn’t grow up in a stocking household. While we always had a couple on display, they were mostly just part of the décor, and my brother and I never expected them to be filled with goodies on Christmas morning. My husband, on the other hand, grew up in a house with stockings so overflowing with gifts that his grandmother actually transitioned them to giant TJ Maxx totes—the bounty simply couldn’t be contained by something small enough to hang from a mantel. So when my husband and I began celebrating Christmas together, there was an adjustment period. That first year, he showed out with all my favorite snacks from the Asian grocery store and some fun earrings. Meanwhile, I panic-bought his favorite candy bar and threw it in at the eleventh hour.
In the years since, I’ve made some improvements in the stocking department. There have been some amusing finds, like the clip-on car sauce holder I saw on Shark Tank, and I’ve also had some successes with funny novelty socks and sports team-themed ties. But no stocking stuffer was ever met with as much enthusiasm as the bag of chocolate chip Byrd’s Famous Cookies I put in his stocking last year.
