Parkers Kitchen, a nationally acclaimed convenience store company and food service leader headquartered in Savannah, Ga., presented a $215,000 Parker’s round-up campaign check to Union Mission as part of the award-winning convenience store company’s recent round-up campaign to benefit Parker’s House for Women on Nov. 10. Parker’s Kitchen matched 25 percent of all customer donations during the company’s round-up campaign, which ran from July 5 through October 31, to maximize the impact for women in need. In addition, the company delivered clothing, toiletries and additional items donated by Parker’s Kitchen team members as part of the company’s recent donation drive to support Parker’s House residents.
“At Parker’s Kitchen, we want to be part of the solution and to make a transformative impact on the communities we serve,” said Olivia Parker, Parker’s Kitchen Outreach and Communications Manager. “We are extremely impressed by Union Mission’s commitment to helping women get their lives back on track at Parker’s House. We’re deeply honored to give back to Parker’s House for Women through our latest round-up campaign and sincerely appreciate the support of our customers as well as our team members.”
Parker’s House for Women stands apart as the only emergency housing program located along the I-95 corridor between Florida and South Carolina that is dedicated solely to helping unaccompanied women experiencing homelessness and providing wraparound services for women in need. Since Union Mission opened Parker’s House in September 2022, the facility has served 804 women, with 538 clients exiting to stable, long-term housing.
“We’re extremely grateful for the generous support from Parker’s Kitchen’s latest round-up campaign, which will make a positive, measurable impact on the lives of women we serve at Parker’s House for Women,” said Union Mission President and CEO Michael Traynor. “This support is critical to enable us to provide emergency housing, mental health counseling and additional support services for women in Savannah who need help to get back on their feet.”
Union Mission is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for the homeless community and offering emergency, transitional and permanent housing solutions for individuals and families in need.
Through the Parker’s Community Fund, Parker’s Kitchen has donated more than $30 million over the past eight years to support a wide range of nonprofit organizations in four key areas: supporting education, reducing hunger, expanding access to healthcare and helping injured local veterans.
