Wright Powers, PLS Retires After 22 Years with Thomas & Hutton

Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a 100%-employee-owned, privately held professional services firm known for its award-winning culture and nearly 80 years of shaping communities across the Southeast, announces the retirement of Wright Powers, PLS from the firm’s Savannah, Georgia office.

Wright has been a cornerstone of Thomas & Hutton’s Survey Department for the past 22 years, serving as a respected leader, mentor, and advocate for the surveying profession. His dedication to quality, professionalism, and knowledge-sharing has left a lasting impression on colleagues, clients, and the broader surveying community. While stepping away from full-time responsibilities, Wright will remain involved on a part-time basis over the next year to help support project continuity and team transitions. “I have been fortunate over my 40+ years in the surveying profession to work on many projects that will have a lasting and positive effect on our lives. Whether it is improving transportation services, providing access to utility, water and sewer services, or developing sustainable communities, I am proud to have contributed to the success of these projects and grateful and honored to have worked with the caring and talented professionals at Thomas & Hutton,” said Wright Powers.

With more than four decades of field and management experience, Wright has led a wide variety of surveying and mapping efforts across the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry. His project portfolio includes boundary, ALTA, topographic, and transportation corridor surveys, as well as surveying services for water, sewer, utility, and drainage infrastructure projects for municipalities and utility providers. He is also highly experienced in GPS & GIS data collection.
