Canady's Heating · Air · Plumbing wrapped up a successful Canady's Coats for Kids drive on Tuesday, January 6 by delivering a huge truckload full of new coats to the United Way of the Coastal Empire.

This is the sixth year that Canady's Coats for Kids has partnered with the United Way of the Coastal Empire to collect donations of new, unused coats for children in need aging from infant to 17 years old in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long Counties.

“We are excited to partner with Canady’s again this year for the Sixth Annual Canady’s Coats for Kids,” Kimberly Waller, President and CEO of the United Way of the Coastal Empire, said, adding, “There is still cold weather ahead and today we are here because of the caring power of this community. We are deeply grateful for all of those in our community who have generously donated new, unused coats in the past and for donating again this year to help keep our kids (infant to 17 years old) warm this winter. These coats are much needed, and we will be working with our partner agencies to distribute the coats to children who are truly in need throughout the Coastal Empire.”

If you know a child in need of a warm coat, please contact the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s 211 Information & Referral Service by calling 2-1-1.

According to Fred Canady, founder of Canady's Heating · Air · Plumbing, when they first started the Canady’s Coats for Kids campaign six years ago, he said that no child should ever go without a coat, and it was so special that people went out and bought new coats to help children in need. Canady added that “Since we began this effort, we have been able to help thousands of children in our area thanks to the generosity of people in our community.”

The Canady's Coats for Kids campaign began on December 1, 2025, and finished on January 2, 2026. For the third consecutive year, Belk at Oglethorpe Mall served as a collection site for the campaign.
