The Coastal Empire Disaster Recovery Committee is sponsoring “Heroes Among Us 2026.” This event will celebrate local “heroes” involved in disaster response agencies and volunteer organizations. Join us as we honor those who work in our local community to prepare, assist, and recover from disasters.

There are many types of disasters that occur. From floods, hurricanes, storms, fires and other traumatic events, these “heroes” help others pick up the pieces and get back on their feet.

On Thursday, April 16th at 11:00am, we will have a lunch presentation and recognition of individuals that have been nominated for this event at Carey Hilliard’s on 11111 Abercorn Street. Come join us and celebrate our local community “heroes.”
