Sam McCachern Named to Georgia Trend's 2026 List of 100 Most Influential Georgians

Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a privately held, employee-owned professional services firm with 80 years of shaping communities across the Southeast, proudly announces that Sam McCachern, PE, Chief Executive Officer, is named to the list of 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend.
The honor recognizes exceptional Georgians whose professional accomplishments and civic leadership continue to make a statewide impact. Sam has previously been recognized by Georgia Trend as both a Notable Georgian and as one of the state’s Georgia 500: Most Influential Leaders, further underscoring his lasting impact on Georgia’s business and civic landscape.
Under his leadership, Sam has led Thomas & Hutton through transformative growth, expanding its reach across the Southeast through strategic acquisitions and talent development. A licensed Professional Engineer, he began his career with T&H in 1985 after earning a civil engineering degree from NC State University.
Other accolades include Junior Achievement’s Savannah Business Hall of Fame (2023), United Way’s Craig Harney Spirit of Philanthropy Award (2024), NC State’s CCEE Alumni Hall of Fame (2023), and Volunteer of the Year by Savannah Technical College (2019).
Sam actively serves organizations including East Savannah United, Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Savannah, United Way of the Coastal Empire, and the Savannah Technical College Foundation, and sits on advisory boards for NC State, Georgia Southern, and University of Georgia. He was appointed to the State Workforce Development Board by Governor Brian Kemp and is a graduate of Leadership Savannah and Leadership Southeast Georgia.
