Savannah Philharmonic Tchaikovsky's Fifth Concert to Move Venue from Lucas Theater to Johnny Mercer Theater Saturday, January 17th at 8:30 PM

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, January 16th, 2026

Due to circumstances at The Lucas Theatre for the Arts the Savannah Philharmonic  were alerted to on Thursday morning, the performance of Tchaikovsky's Fifth scheduled for tomorrow will now take place at the Johnny Mercer Theatre, located at 301 W Oglethorpe Ave., Savannah, GA 31401.

The performance is still TOMORROW, Saturday, January 17th.  The concert will begin at 8:30 PM, with doors opening at 7:45 PM.  Seating will be general admission by seating tier, with seating on the orchestra level only.  Each tier will be labelled and ushers will assist guests with finding their correct seating tier.

The 8:30 PM concert time allows us to celebrate the special community dedication honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. earlier in the evening. The Savannah Philharmonic is honored to follow this historic moment and bring the community together through music.

Please be aware that the Johnny Mercer Theatre does not allow large bags or backpacks.  Only clutches 4.5” x 8.5” are permitted.  Bags larger than this size must be clear and can be no larger than 14” x 14.”  All patrons will be required to pass through the security scanner in order to gain access to the building.

The Savannah Philharmonic is excited to have worked with our partners at the City of Savannah to make this change happen and bring our community together through music.
