Coastal Heritage Society Welcomes Sam Evans to Board of Trustees and Unveils Executive Committee

Sam Evans has joined Coastal Heritage Society’s (CHS’s) Board of Trustees to serve on the Finance Committee of this respected nonprofit organization. Evans, of Baker Tilly, has more than 15 years of experience in accounting, with roles in both public accounting and industry. His areas of experience include financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, internal audit, technical accounting consultations and interim controller/CFO duties.
Kristen King of Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children's Hospital of Savannah (Memorial Health) is the new Chair of the Board and is joined by other key members to serve on the 2026 Executive Committee. Ryan Sewell will serve as the Past Chair of the Board, Deanne Mitchell of Official Guides of Savannah/Convention Consultants will serve as Vice Chair, Ben Senger of WSAV will serve as Secretary, and Barry Shelley will serve as Treasurer.
“We are so fortunate to have these talented and well accomplished individuals join and serve Coastal Heritage Society’s Board of Trustees,” said CHS CEO Nora Lee. “Their experience and commitment to our mission will help grow the educational experiences for our community and visitors, as well as guide our future organizational growth.”
CHS operates six historic museums including Savannah History Museum, Georgia State Railroad Museum, Savannah Children’s Museum, Old Fort Jackson, Pin Point Heritage Museum, and Harper Fowlkes House. It has been a regional leader in historic preservation and community engagement for over 50 years.
The mission of Coastal Heritage Society is to provide educational experiences for the public through the preservation and presentation of the historic resources of coastal Georgia and adjacent regions.
