Elevate Savannah, a Savannah-based nonprofit dedicated to building long-term, life-changing relationships with youth, equipping them to thrive and contribute to their community, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Dollander as the new Board Chair. Dollander is Vice President of Business Development at Colonial Group Inc. and a long-time supporter and member of the Elevate Savannah Board of Directors.

Dollander succeeds outgoing Board Chair and President George Oelschig, who has provided dedicated leadership during his tenure. Under Oelschig’s guidance, the organization expanded its reach and deepened its impact across Savannah’s schools, supporting the growth of programs serving Savannah youth through accredited classes, mentoring, adventure experiences, and college and career readiness. Oelschig remains on the Board, now serving as Chair of Elevate Savannah’s Fund Development Committee.

“Serving as Board Chair of Elevate Savannah has been a true privilege,” said Oelschig. “ I’ve seen firsthand the life-changing impact that consistent mentorship and meaningful relationships have on our students. While I’m stepping out of the Chair role, I remain deeply committed to Elevate’s mission and will continue supporting this important work. Chad brings strong leadership and a genuine passion for our community, and I’m confident Elevate Savannah will continue to grow under his guidance.”

Dollander has been involved with Elevate Savannah since 2024 and has contributed his expertise and leadership to help support mission-critical initiatives. In his new role as Board Chair, he plans to continue supporting Elevate Savannah's growth initiatives to expand the curriculum to additional Chatham County Public Schools and broaden community awareness/support to the Elevate Savannah mission.

“Elevate Savannah is creating lasting change by investing in relationships that help students build character, confidence, and direction. My experience as a product of public school education in Georgia was enhanced thanks to teacher mentors and coaches pouring into me.  In fact, it was instrumental in my development. I want that same experience for middle school & high school students here in Chatham County. The Elevate Savannah curriculum & teacher mentor model provides that experience,” said Dollander. "I’m honored to step into this role and build on the strong foundation already in place. I look forward to expanding our impact and strengthening partnerships that support Savannah’s next generation.”

Elevate Savannah’s mission, building long-term, life-changing relationships with youth, equipping them to thrive and contribute to their community, has guided its work since launching in Savannah in 2019 as an affiliate of Elevate USA. The organization’s integrated program model, including accredited classes, mentoring, college/career readiness, and adventure, meets students where they are and supports their development over time.
