EMC Engineering Services, Inc. (EMC), a leading civil engineering firm
known for delivering innovative, reliable solutions across the Southeast, is excited to announce that it has been recognized as an award winner at the prestigious 2026 Georgia Engineering Awards. This annual event,
hosted by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia), celebrates the top achievements and advancements within Georgia’s engineering community.

EMC received a Merit award in the Water Resources or Waste and Storm Water category for the Blue Mile Revitalization Project in Statesboro, Georgia. The project addressed chronic flooding along South Main Street
while supporting the City’s broader vision to strengthen connectivity and revitalization in the downtown corridor.

EMC led hydrologic analysis and technical design for stormwater system upgrades and improvements to Little Lotts Creek, using advanced modeling and field data to reduce flood risks and improve water quality. The
project also required complex utility coordination and construction sequencing within an active downtown environment, ultimately combining resilient infrastructure improvements with pedestrian-friendly streetscapes
and future civic spaces.

EMC also received a Merit award in the Water Resources or Waste and Storm Water category for the Upson County Judicial Center in Thomaston, Georgia. Serving as civil engineer of record, EMC provided site planning, grading, stormwater design, and utility coordination for the new 57,000-square-foot facility. The project required careful stormwater management on a constrained site, along with coordination of new utility connections and multi-agency permitting. The completed Judicial Center improves safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency while strengthening downtown Thomaston as a civic hub.

In addition to the project awards, Christopher E. Brazell, PE, PLS, COO of EMC Engineering Services, Inc., was recognized as GSPE Engineer of the Year (Private Sector). Mr. Brazell leads more than 100 employees across over ten offices and is the firm’s only dually licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor. He is widely recognized for combining technical expertise with strong leadership, mentoring emerging engineers and surveyors while guiding projects that strengthen communities across the region. Mr. Brazell also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgia Southern University and remains active in numerous industry and community organizations.

“As both an award recipient and sponsor, we are thrilled to celebrate Georgia’s engineering excellence,” said EMC CEO and Chairman of the Board, Charles E. Perry, Jr., PE LEED AP. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and our continued focus on delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that strengthen communities across Georgia.”
