Georgia Southern University to Host Third Annual Only for Southern Giving Day on March 5th

Georgia Southern University will host its third annual Only For Southern Day of Giving on Thursday, March 5, 2026, inviting Eagle Nation to come together for 24 hours of generosity, pride and impact.

Only For Southern is a University-wide giving event that unites alumni, students, faculty, staff and the community in support of the programs and initiatives that make Georgia Southern distinctive. 

“Only for Southern highlights the extraordinary impact of Eagle Nation when we unite behind a common purpose,” said Georgia Southern University President Kyle Marrero. “In just 24 hours, we can open doors of opportunity, transform lives and strengthen the future of our University. Our students are at the heart of this day of giving, and every gift – no matter the size – fuels academic excellence, expands access and elevates the student experience across all of Georgia Southern’s campuses.”

Now in its third year, it continues to build momentum as a signature tradition of engagement and impact. During this one-day celebration of philanthropy, supporters can direct their gifts to the colleges, scholarships, student programs, athletics teams and campus priorities that mean the most to them.
