March 16, 2026, Healthy Savannah is excited to announce a free community event dedicated to the well-being of local children and families. In partnership with the Savannah (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Healthy Savannah will host the Kids Health & Safety ZONE from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The event will take place at the Greenbriar Children’s Center Gym, located at 3709 Hopkins Street, Savannah, GA 31405.

The community is invited to enjoy a fun and interactive day focused on building healthy habits. The Kids Health & Safety ZONE is one of several activities and resources for the whole family, including:

  • Health Screenings: Free, basic health checks for children.
  • Free Smoothies: From On the Go juice and smoothie truck.
  • Food Demonstrations: Learn how to prepare quick, nutritious, and kid-friendly meals.
  • Get Fit ZONE: Interactive physical activities to get kids moving.
  • Health Information & Resources: Connect with local organizations dedicated to family health.
  • Games & Raffles: Fun for all ages with chances to win prizes.

“We believe that keeping kids healthy should be a community effort that is accessible and fun,” said Devin Frails, Physical Activity Program manager at Healthy Savannah. “By partnering with dedicated organizations like The Links, Incorporated, we can create an engaging environment where families can access vital screenings, learn new skills, and discover resources—all while having a great time together.”

The Savannah (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, an international women’s service organization, is co-sponsoring the event as part of its commitment to service and enriching the community.

“Linked in friendship, connected in service, our chapter is proud to join Healthy Savannah in this initiative,” said Denise M. Cooper, Esq., president of the Savannah (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. “Investing in the health and safety of our children is one of the most important investments we can make for the future of our city.”

This event is free and open to the public. For more information about the Kids Health & Safety ZONE, please contact Denise Cooper at (912) 596-2765 or [email protected].

• Advocating for effective, evidence-based policies

Since its inception in 2007, this innovative, cross-sector collaboration has delivered lasting community benefits through numerous multi-agency projects, grants, and policy initiatives, including the Smoke Free Air Ordinance that continues to protect Savannah’s residents 15 years later.

Healthy Savannah was honored in 2022 with the CDC’s REACH Lark Galloway-Gilliam Award for Advancing Health Equity. In October 2025, Healthy Savannah announced continued funding of the CDC’s five-year, $3.8 million Racial & Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) grant, originally endowed in 2023. The funds, administered by Healthy Savannah and the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, support sustainable health equity for racial and ethnic minority populations in low-wealth neighborhoods, focusing on nutrition, physical activity and breastfeeding.
