Savannah Ballet Theatre Announces, “Tribute to American Composers” Spring Showcase
Thursday, March 26th, 2026
Savannah Ballet Theatre presents its spring showcase, “Tribute to American Composers,” on Saturday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Ben Tucker Theater. The performance celebrates the powerful influence of American music through an evening of dynamic ballet and dance.
The program highlights the diverse sounds that have shaped American culture, featuring choreography set to the music of celebrated composers including George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Jim Morrison, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and others. Audiences can expect a wide range of dance styles inspired by these musical traditions, from classical ballet to cowboy-inspired works, jazz, and rock-and-roll.
“As the nation approaches the celebration of America’s 250th birthday, we wanted to honor the composers whose music helped define our cultural identity,” said Rebecca Dugal, Company Manager for Savannah Ballet Theatre. “This showcase offers something for everyone and reflects the incredible versatility of both American music and dance.”
Founded in 1998, Savannah Ballet Theatre is a nonprofit organization and the only professional ballet company in Southeast Georgia, presenting a full season of classical and contemporary performances while also providing dance education and community outreach programs.
“Tribute to American Composers” will bring together professional dancers and rising local talent to create a vibrant evening celebrating artistry, storytelling, and the enduring power of music.
