Wednesday, March 25th, 2026

The Savannah Tree Foundation (STF) is thrilled to invite the community to its 2026 Green Gala, a signature fundraising event set for Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM EDT. Hosted at one of Savannah’s most beautiful venues, 700 Wilmington Island Road, Savannah, Georgia 31410. This cherished annual gathering celebrates The Hostess City’s legendary live oak canopy while raising vital funds to protect, plant, and grow Chatham County’s urban forest.

For over 40 years, the Savannah Tree Foundation has dedicated itself to preserving and enhancing Savannah’s historic trees and coastal green spaces through tree planting, community engagement, education, advocacy, and innovative programs like the Chatham Canopy Corps.Trees are essential to our quality of life. They clean our air, mitigate flooding, combat extreme heat, reduce coastal erosion, and preserve the majestic beauty that defines Savannah. The Green Gala serves as a joyful yet impactful way to rally support for these efforts during a time of continued organizational growth and community impact.

The evening promises an unforgettable experience:

● Cocktail Hour & Silent Auction: Guests arrive on the lawn for browsing and bidding on a curated selection of items donated by local artists, small businesses, and organizations. The auction is virtual for seamless smartphone bidding throughout the night.
● Welcome & Dinner: Executive Director Jackson Alexander will deliver opening remarks, introduce the dedicated STF team, recognize special guests including city and county leaders, board members, co-founder Lynda Beam, sponsors, and honorees. Dinner, prepared buffet-style by the talented team at Coastal Kitchen, will feature delicious, crowd-pleasing dishes.
● Tree Champion Awards: The program’s centerpiece honors outstanding 2026 Tree Champions—individuals, small businesses, and corporations who have provided unwavering support through volunteerism, partnerships, financial contributions, event hosting, tools, saplings, and community outreach. Video tributes will showcase their contributions, followed by presentations and applause.
● Updates & Celebration: Jackson Alexander will share recent STF triumphs, including expanded planting events, educational initiatives, and progress in sustaining the urban forest amid recent transitions.

● Dancing & Continued Bidding: After dinner, guests move to the ballroom for live performance and dancing with the high-energy Emerald Empire Band, cocktails, and ongoing auction excitement.

“Savannah’s trees are more than scenery—they’re a living legacy that benefits every resident,” said Jackson Alexander, Executive Director of the Savannah Tree Foundation. “The Green Gala brings our community together to celebrate this heritage, honor those who help us advance our mission, and inspire continued action to ensure a healthy, sustainable canopy for generations.
We’re grateful for the support that makes nights like this possible and look forward to welcoming everyone on April 18.”
