Monday, March 9th, 2026
Telfair Museums held its 46th Annual Telfair Ball, “A Legacy in Motion,” in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Telfair Academy and the 20th anniversary of the Jepson Center on February 28. The event raised funds to continue its education and outreach programming for these programs’ 108th year.
The Telfair Ball is the institution’s most significant annual fundraiser, providing a platform for patrons of the arts to gather with the common goal of raising essential funds that allow the museum to serve the community in exceptional, life-changing ways.
“The Telfair Ball is more than a celebration – it is a commitment to the community’s future,” said 2026 Ball Chair Courtland Stevens. “As we honor the remarkable legacies of the Telfair Academy and Jepson Center, we are investing in the next generation of artists, thinkers, and leaders. The generosity of our supporters ensures that access to art and education remains at the heart of everything we do.”
Proceeds from the ball directly support Telfair Museums education programming, which served more than 8,000 Pre-K through 12th grade students in 2025 alone. The museum also proudly offers the longest-running free admission school program for all fourth-grade students in the Savannah-Chatham County area.
Director of Education and Senior Curator Harry DeLorme emphasized the direct impact of the evening’s success: “Every dollar raised through the Telfair Ball translates into meaningful educational experiences for students across our region. From guided tours to hands-on studio workshops, these programs spark creativity, build critical thinking skills, and open doors to lifelong engagement with the arts.”
Every year, Telfair Museums education programs touch the lives of thousands of students across the Coastal Georgia community. Free school tours bring Savannah’s public school students into the museum space to explore world-class exhibitions, Free Family Days open the cutting-edge Jepson Center to kids and parents, and art camps and classes nurture artists of all skill levels.
