Savannah-based entrepreneur Emily McCarthy recently announced the selection
of three local nonprofit organizations as the recipients of the Invite Joy Fund. In its inaugural year, the endowment fund was created to benefit local nonprofit organizations related to women, children and families.
Organizations were selected by an advisory committee and include ESP Savannah, Shelter from the Rain, and Loop It Up Savannah. Each organization was presented with a $5000 check to assist them with continued efforts to provide local women and children with much needed resources.
“We were so touched by the number of local organizations that are committed to our community’s women, children and families,” said Founder and Creative Director Emily McCarthy. “We know these funds will allow each selected organization to bring continued support and joy to others.”
Nonprofit organizations were asked to complete an application detailing their mission statement, where the funds will be allocated, and how their organization benefits local mothers and children within Chatham County.
McCarthy continues, “Our vision for the Invite Joy Fund is to continue sharing the efforts of these selected organizations and finding a way to support additional local nonprofits through volunteer efforts. Their mission is imperative to our community and its future generations – and we are honored
to work alongside them.”
