Leadership Savannah’s Class of 2026 gained a behind-the-scenes look at how local government works during this month’s Municipal Day—connecting policy to practice across the region.

The day began at Savannah City Hall, where participants explored essential infrastructure systems and heard from Van Johnson on the importance of strong municipal leadership. The class then visited the Savannah Convention Center to learn how tourism strategy and partnerships, including Visit Savannah, drive one of the region’s top economic engines.

In Thunderbolt, local leaders shared insights on community engagement and governance, highlighting the unique role of smaller municipalities.
