Savannah African Art Museum Collaborates with Scribble Art Studio Summer Camps

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, May 27th, 2026

The Savannah African Art Museum will be welcoming Scribble Art Studio summer camp participants from June 2 through July 28 to discover and learn about a range of exhibits from their extensive collection.

Every Tuesday in June and July, young campers will take a field trip to Savannah African Art Museum to examine sculptures and 3D designs before returning to the studio to create art of their own. Although Scribble Art’s camps are split by age, both classes have a multitude of art experiences. All students will participate in drawing, printmaking, painting, and fiber arts, with the younger students also practicing sculpture creation.

“Partnering with Scribble Art Studio is a wonderful opportunity to help younger generations observe, appreciate, and analyze African culture and history through art.” said Alisa Evans- Newsome, Executive Director of Savannah African Art Museum. “We hope that Scribble Art Studio campers learn more about the intricate work involved in creating artwork.”

Camp sessions are 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, and separated into 2 groups by age, 5-10 years old and 10-14 years old. Summer Art Camp is $295/week, with all materials included. Scribble Art Studio SAV, LLC is a unique art studio that offers a plethora of art classes and workshops for all ages. They are dedicated to helping each artist find their individuality by being supportive and personalized to the artists’ growth.

The Savannah African Art Museum is a nonprofit institution devoted to increasing awareness and appreciation of African culture. Its collection includes more than 1,000 objects from West and Central Africa, representing over 180 cultures across 28 countries.
