Summer 500 Program Launches with Strong Student Participation
Friday, May 29th, 2026
This week marks the official start of Savannah’s Summer 500 program, and students are already off to a tremendous start.
Before beginning work with local employers on June 1, participating students are completing three days of soft skills training designed to prepare them for success in the workplace. Through a partnership between the City of Savannah, Chatham County, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, students have been matched with more than 40 area companies for six weeks of paid summer employment.
Thank you to every employer, partner, and supporter who helped make this important workforce development initiative possible. Your participation is helping prepare the next generation of Savannah’s workforce.
