Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, one of the Southeast's premier litigation and defense firms, is pleased to announce the opening of its Savannah, Georgia office. This is the firm's third location, joining its flagship Atlanta headquarters and Birmingham offices. Leading the new office is partner Peter Muller, a seasoned litigator who will be joined by Of Counsel Charles Barrow and associate Coby King. While the firm has long served clients with matters in the Savannah area, this expansion marks the first time Swift Currie will have a permanent, dedicated presence in one of Georgia's most dynamic and growing legal markets.
Joining Peter, Charles and Coby, will be Jon Wilson. Jon is a current workers’ compensation partner from the Atlanta office who recently relocated to join the team in Savannah.

New Team Members
Peter Muller joins as partner and head of the Savannah office.
A native Savannahian, Peter has been defending a variety of lawsuits throughout South Georgia for over 35 years, including premises liability, trucking accidents, construction liability, professional liability, catastrophic injuries and EEOC claims. Peter has extensive experience at the appellate and trial levels, and he has successfully concluded hundreds of suits and pre-suit matters through mediation. He is a registered neutral at Avery Mediation.
Peter is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for his work in Litigation – Insurance. Peter is also a past president of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and was a longtime member of the Executive Council of the Younger Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. He has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell since 2005.
In the Savannah community, Peter is Leadership Savannah graduate, as well as a past president of the Hibernian Society of Savannah and of the German Heritage Society of Savannah. He currently serves as president of The Teutonic Council of Savannah and is on the board of the Skidaway Island Republican Club. He Peter is a past member of the school council of Savannah Arts Academy, and he has coached and judged the high school mock trial competition for South Georgia.
Peter earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia.
Charles Barrow joins as of counsel in the Savannah office.
Charlie has been in private practice since 1976. His practice is concentrated in insurance defense work representing employers in the State of Georgia on workers’ compensation and federal longshoreman and harbor workers’ compensation cases.
Charlie is a state approved mediator. He has represented the Town of Thunderbolt since 1995 as general counsel, providing legal assistance in numerous areas of local government law to the mayor, council and administrative staff. He also represents Chatham County in the acquisition of property for public projects and in condemnation cases. Barrow also represents the City of Savannah in condemnation matters. Previous representation includes Chatham County as County Attorney (1985-1989), and the City of Springfield as City Attorney (1991-2009).
Charlie is a 1976 graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University and received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
Coby King joins as an associate in the Savannah office.
Coby represents individuals and corporations in a wide range of insurance defense matters in Georgia state courts. Coby grew up in the town of Moultrie in southwest Georgia. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in both finance and economics. Coby earned his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law. While in law school, Coby worked with the Moot Court Society as both a participant and coach for the Intellectual Property team.
Swift Currie Attorney Relocates to Savannah
Jon Wilson transfers from the Atlanta office to serve as a partner in Atlanta.
A Savannah native, Jon represents employers, insurers, self-insureds and third-party administrators in coastal Georgia and across the state in workers’ compensation defense and related matters.
Jon handles all aspects of litigated and non-litigated workers’ compensation claims, including advising employers on workplace procedures, developing policies and manuals to ensure consistent claim management and representing clients before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation and on appeal.
Jon represents automobile and consumer goods manufacturers, restaurants and businesses throughout the food supply chain, and members of the construction industry — including framers, roofers and stonemasons. He also defends complex cases involving employer-employee relationship disputes and insurance coverage issues.
Jon earned his undergraduate degree from Berry College and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
