The City of Savannah Office of Municipal Archives & History, in a new partnership with Live Oak Public Library, is now seeking presenter proposals for Savannah GenFest 2026.
GenFest 2026, October 16 - 17, will present a wealth of genealogical resources available to Savannah and Chatham County residents exploring their families’ histories. Through lightening talks, interactive workshops, poster presentations, and information tables, participants will learn about local repositories, how to navigate archival collections and research tools, others’ discoveries that may guide their own journeys, and local heritage and genealogy organizations active in the area.
Individuals and organizations interested in partnering with the City of Savannah Office of Municipal Archives & History and Live Oak Public Library as a GenFest presenter are invited to submit a proposal through the
online submission form.
Presenter proposals are due August 1, by 5:00pm. There are multiple ways to participate and share your knowledge and resources, including: poster presentations, 15-minute lightening talks, 30-minute and 60-minute interactive workshops, and information tables.
Questions about proposals may be directed to Luciana Spracher, City of Savannah Archives & History Officer, at
