Effingham County Commissioners Deny 1,000-Home Subdivision Proposal Near Guyton

Effingham County commissioners voted to deny a proposed 1,000-home subdivision planned for the southern Guyton area, citing concerns about drainage and added traffic on a two-lane road.

The board voted to reject the development during Tuesday’s meeting. The decision was not unanimous. Commissioners voting against the project said the subdivision, proposed for Zitterouer Road, would strain infrastructure that has been discussed for years but has not materialized.
