Live Oak Public Library Appoints New Deputy Director

Live Oak Public Library welcomes Chip Holliday to its leadership team.

Holliday joins Live Oak Public Library after nearly a dozen years with the Memphis Public Library (MPL), a highly acclaimed and innovative network of 18 branches serving the city of Memphis and surrounding Shelby County, Tennessee for more than a century. He is based at the Bull Street Library administration offices.

Holliday joined MPL in 2014 as a Senior Librarian in the history department. After receiving his Master of Library & Information Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, Holliday held increasingly responsible positions within the system, and was most recently Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships.

Prior to beginning his career in public libraries, Chip was a high school English teacher at Briarcrest Christian School in Shelby County. He received a Master of Arts in Education from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and a Bachelor of Science in History from Lambuth University.

He is a former member of the Tennessee Library Association.
