Savannah Parents, Coaches Push for More Youth Sports Access with Mall Revamp

Parents and coaches say access to youth sports facilities is a problem in Savannah, and some are proposing the Savannah mall as a potential solution.
Jeff Hodges, a Savannah parent, created a mockup of a youth sports complex and shared it on Facebook, drawing hundreds of comments.
“I thought why not Savannah,” Hodges said.
Hodges said the city’s lack of access to sports facilities and fields has affected young athletes.
