SCCPSS Academic Intervention Specialist Named President-Elect of SSTAGE

SCCPSS Academic Intervention Specialist Dr. Ronica Williams has been officially elected as President-Elect for the Student Support Team Association for Georgia Educators (SSTAGE). SSTAGE is a professional organization dedicated to educators working with Student Support Teams (SST), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to promote student success. The organization’s mission is to enhance educator effectiveness and student competence by providing leadership through collaboration, professional learning, and advocacy.
During the upcoming year Dr. Williams will serve alongside and learn from the current president as part of the leadership transition process. Following that year of service, she will assume the role of Current President of the organization and, in turn, support the transition and mentorship of the next President-Elect.
Dr. Williams is an MTSS District Specialist. MTSS is a proactive framework used by schools to identify and provide targeted help to students who are struggling academically, behaviorally, or socially. She says, “I am grateful for the opportunity to represent both our district and support educational leaders across Georgia in this capacity, and I am grateful to be able to expand on my professional growth embracing our districts direction forward and vision.”
SCCPSS Chief Academic Officer Derrick Butler said “This is a well-deserved honor for Dr. Williams. Her election as president elect is reflective of her continued commitment to serving students and supporting teachers.
