Anchor Park's New Entertainment Venue Opens with the Sunset Jazz Festival
Tuesday, August 4th, 2026
Today marks a historic milestone for the City of Port Wentworth as the VyStar Pavilion at Anchor Park hosts its first-ever concert, the Sunset Jazz Festival. The 5,200-seat venue, a project four years in the making, opens its doors to the public for the first time, officially launching a new era of entertainment, community gathering, and economic opportunity for the city and the greater Savannah region.
This is a collaborative effort between the City of Port Wentworth, Oak View Group and with VyStar Credit Union’s naming rights.
Tonight's Lineup
The Sunset Jazz Festival brings four acclaimed jazz and R&B artists to the VyStar Pavilion stage for the venue's inaugural performance: Brian Culbertson, Norman Brown, Avery Sunshine and Will Downing.
More than Music
"We have a world-class, multi-use entertainment facility in our backyard. The future is now for Port Wentworth," said City Manager Steve Davis.
We will host more than musical acts on this stage. "The city will be able to host city events at the VyStar Pavilion. Our first city event will be La Fiesta Hispana, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, on September 25th," Davis said, giving residents a shared destination for celebrations and festivals.
La Fiesta Hispana will mark the venue's first city-hosted event, bringing a bilingual celebration of Hispanic heritage and culture to Anchor Park just weeks after tonight's inaugural concert. Additional concerts, tournaments, and community events are already planned at the VyStar Pavilion in the months ahead.
Doors open at 3:30PM, bringing the curtain up on a new chapter for the City of Port Wentworth. For Interviews, please contact: Ammie Dover cell: 443.306.5150 email: [email protected]
