CURE Childhood Cancer Welcomes Abby Smith as Development Manager, Community Engagement for South Georgia

CURE Childhood Cancer is pleased to announce Abby Smith has joined the organization as Development Manager, Community Engagement for South Georgia, where she will lead efforts to strengthen community partnerships, increase awareness, and expand support for children with cancer and their families throughout the region.
Smith brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, education, and program development. Throughout her career, she has built strong relationships with schools, civic organizations, businesses, and community leaders while developing programs that make a meaningful impact. Most recently, she served as Program Director for the LEAP Youth Development Program in Effingham County, where she led community partnerships, outreach initiatives, and educational programming for students and families.
A longtime advocate for children and families, Smith has also served in leadership roles with the United Way of Effingham County, Rotary Club of Effingham County, and Catie's Fund, a CURE Childhood Cancer named fund, where she has supported fundraising, community engagement, and mission-driven outreach. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Education in Counseling Education from Georgia Southern University.

In her new role, Smith will work closely with community partners, donors, volunteers, and supporters across South Georgia to strengthen CURE's mission of advancing pediatric cancer research while providing critical support services for children with cancer and their families.
