Got A Thing Need A Thing Launches Peer-to-Peer Rental Marketplace in Savannah

Got A Thing Need A Thing, LLC, a peer-to-peer rental marketplace, is now live at gotathingneedathing.com, giving Savannah residents a way to rent tools, lawn equipment, and other occasional-use gear from people nearby instead of buying something they'll use once. Owners can list idle equipment and get paid each time it's rented out.
The platform is live with real bookings, ID-verified renters, and a security deposit on every transaction. Owners set their own prices; Got A Thing Need A Thing takes a 15% commission on completed bookings, with a $3.50 minimum. Listing an item is free, no matter how many items an owner lists.
To build up its first wave of local listings, the company is offering the first 20 owners who sign up their first 10 bookings commission-free.
Savannah is the company's first market. The plan is to prove the model in one city before expanding market by market across Georgia, similar to Airbnb's early rollout strategy.
"I kept seeing the same thing — a garage full of tools that get used once and then just sit there, while someone down the street goes and buys the exact same thing new," said Jordan Thomas, founder of Got A Thing Need A Thing. "The goal is to make it easy for neighbors to share equipment instead of everyone owning their own copy of something they'll rarely use."
