The City of Savannah’s Vizion Zero Program, in partnership with Bike Walk Savannah, hosts the inaugural Savannah Street Stroll Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at Daffin Park from 1-4 p.m.
A first-of-its-kind event in the Hostess City, Savannah Street Stroll will transform City’s streets into a vibrant, vehicle-free space where the community may walk, bike, roll, connect, and celebrate healthier, safer streets together. This open street-stye community event brings together multiple local organizations, businesses, community groups, and City departments, to encourage safer streets, active transportation, and more connected communities, free of vehicles.
Specifically, Savannah Street Stroll takes place at Daffin Park & Washington Ave. with the following street closures that will provide a connected space for pedestrians, cyclists and other non-motorized users to safely experience the area without vehicle traffic:
- Washington Avenue: Closed between Hickory St. and Waring Dr.
- Daffin Park Drive: South end closed between the traffic circle and Hickory St.
- Waring Drive: Closed between Washington Ave. and the circle
The inaugural festival is designed to give residents an opportunity to experience Savannah’s streets in a new way while also highlighting the connectivity of safe transportation, recreation, health, and community. Attendees can expect a mix of activities, including food trucks and vendors; family-friendly events; music and entertainment; local organizations and community resource displays; access to the Police Memorial Trail; and connectivity to the newly renovated Truman Linear Trail.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, roll, or use other forms of active transportation when possible. The event provides direct connectivity making it possible for participants to access the event without driving.
