Liberty County changemakers will receive some well-deserved time in the spotlight this week. The Liberty County Boys & Girls Club’s annual Humanitarian Award Gala will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Richmond Hill City Center, located at 520 Cedar Street, Richmond Hill, GA 31324. This special evening will celebrate individuals whose service, leadership, and courage have made a lasting impact on the community.

The organization will honor DeLisa Clift with the Humanitarian Award for her commitment to service and social impact. Erika Blocker-LeCounte will receive the Heroic Award in recognition of her courageous actions during the tragic Sapelo Island gangway collapse.

“The Liberty County 12th Humanitarian of the Year Award Gala provides an opportunity for yearlong volunteers and sponsors to come together for an evening of food, fellowship and fundraising at the same time,” said Edna Walthour with the Liberty County Boys & Girls Club. “The awardees are chosen from a list of names that the organizers get from around the county. The gala is just a small way that we can say thank you to our supporters for all that you do to help protect, develop and shape the future of the youth in the Liberty County Community.

Tickets for the event start at $125 for general admission and a general donation option is available for those unable to attend but who still want to support the organization. Proceeds from the evening benefit the Liberty County Boys & Girls Club and the young people who attend the programs.
