The Beach Institute, in collaboration with the Savannah African Art Museum, will host the first Health & Wellness Community Chat Series. With October being Women's health awareness month, the first chat in the series will be focused on women’s health and overall well-being. The event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Savannah African Art Museum, located at 201 East 37th Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

This open community conversation will feature medical professionals specializing in Internal Medicine and Women’s Health. Panelists will discuss preventive care, healthy living, chronic disease management, and key issues affecting women’s health. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with experts during a Q&A session. Additionally, Mayo Clinic-trained WomenHeart Champions from WomenHeart Savannah (the regional chapter of WomenHeart.org) will be present to provide information on heart health and their monthly support network meetings. Also in attendance will be St. Joseph Candler Womens Center to educate on Breast Cancer and awareness.  

"Our goal is to create an empowering and welcoming space where women and collaborative community members can receive, share and exchange reliable health information, ask important questions, and feel encouraged to prioritize their well-being," said Evelyn Williamson, event organizer.

The event is free and open to the public. Members of the media and photographers are invited to attend and cover the program. Media personnel are asked to arrive 30 minutes early for setup.
