The City of Savannah announces the latest dates for the Savannah Community Memory Project’s Memory Collection Drop-In days, hosted by the Municipal Archives Division.

‘Share Your Story’ invites residents to share their personal stories, photographs, and memories of life in Savannah. Since May, hundreds have submitted photographs, postcards, building plans, scrapbooks, newsletters, and other keepsakes that reflect Savannah’s history and community. Participants may also choose to share their memories on camera or take part in a traditional oral history interview.

The next Memory Collection Drop-In will take place Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Archives & History room at City Hall, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring items to be scanned and returned on-site. Municipal Archives is especially interested in stories and materials related to Savannah’s neighborhoods, landmarks, community events, local leaders, and food traditions. Previous submissions are attached.
