Savannah State University Inducts the Inaugural Class of the Richard R. Wright, Sr. Giving Society, Celebrating $4.7M in Lifetime Philanthropic Impact

Savannah State University (SSU) honored a distinguished cohort of philanthropic leaders during its Richard R. Wright, Sr. Giving Society Induction Ceremony. The society recognizes individuals and couples whose cumulative lifetime giving to the university has reached $100,000 or more.
Collectively, the newly inducted honorees have contributed $4,738,405 to Savannah State, providing vital funding for student scholarships, academic programs, and institutional growth.
Named in honor of SSU’s founding president, the Richard R. Wright, Sr. Giving Society celebrates donors whose visionary support helps eliminate financial barriers for students and ensures the long-term vitality of the university.
“The extraordinary generosity of these inductees directly transforms the lives of our students,” said Adrian Scott, SSU Vice President for University Advancement. “By investing in Savannah State, our donors are not only honoring the vision of President Wright, but they are also building a bridge to opportunity for the next generation of Tiger leaders.
