Second Installment of Chatham County Property Tax Bills Mailed Out

Second installment property tax bills are officially in the mail to property owners across Chatham County, and payments are due Monday, Nov. 16.
The Chatham County Tax Commissioner’s Office announced that some homeowners may notice savings this year due to local homestead exemption changes and the state-approved Homeowner Tax Relief Grant (HTRG).
Under the relief grant, eligible homesteaded properties receive up to an $18,000 reduction in assessed value, which can lower the overall bill. The relief grant does not apply to non-homesteaded properties.
