Berrien High School Needs Your Help to Win $1 Million
Thursday, October 15th, 2026

T-Mobile has allowed the ‘secret’ to escape from the bag. After earning back-to-back $5K Friday wins, Berrien High School will be receiving an even bigger check before this Friday night’s home football game against Brooks County.
BHS was selected from nearly 2,500 schools nationwide as one of 40 finalists in T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights competition, earning $25,000 and the chance to compete for additional prizes. The $25,000 prize will be presented this week.
In a press release from T-Mobile, it was stated, “After earning back-to-back $5K Fridays wins, the Berrien Rebels are continuing their recovery from Hurricane Helene, which damaged athletic facilities and disrupted sports across the community. A win would help complete critical upgrades to the field, lighting and technology – supporting a recovery effort that has come to represent far more than football.”
Berrien High School is the only Georgia school to earn a spot in the national Top 40, giving Georgians statewide a chance to rally behind the Rebels during public voting. To advance to the next round, everyone – and we mean everyone – needs to vote daily. The votes for BHS do not have to come from within the county or from even within the state, so the word needs to be spread far and wide.
How fans can help
Fans can vote once per day from Oct. 8–25 at FridayNight5GLights.com, directly here: https://fn5gl.t-mobile.com/vote/berrien-high-school, or in the T-Life app to help Berrien High School become the South Division Champion and advance to the Final Four.
Several groups – including the newspaper – have been sharing information on Facebook about how to vote, so a link should be easy to find in your news feed.
One school from each division – West, Midwest, South and East – will advance. Division Champions, announced Oct. 29, will receive $250,000, a Gronk Fitness gym upgrade valued at $90,000 and “The Big Deal” Student Leadership Award valued at $5,000.
As of Monday afternoon, Berrien High trailed the South leader by a wide margin, but it is hoped the school can gain ground as word spreads around the community and on social media.
Final voting will run Oct. 29-Nov. 8, with the $1 million grand prize winner announced Nov. 12.
