The Savannah Area Chamber’s Bert Brantley and Jared Downs joined hundreds of attendees to celebrate the dedication of the I-516 and Veterans Parkway interchange in honor of former Savannah Mayor and state Rep. Edna Jackson. State Rep. Carl Gilliard hosted the ceremony at St. Philip A.M.E. Church, followed by a motorcade to the interchange.

Jackson, Savannah’s first Black female mayor and later a member of House District 165, said the recognition reflects the community’s appreciation for her work and service.

The Savannah Area Chamber and its members congratulate Rep. Jackson on this well-deserved honor and thank her for decades of leadership, dedication, and service to our community.
