The City of Savannah invites residents to an interactive community meeting focusing on reimagining Montgomery Cross Rd., including the next phase of the City’s
Tide to Town Urban Trail project.
The public meeting will highlight multiple options for the future of one of Savannah’s most traveled and populated areas, Montgomery Cross Rd., from Sallie Mood Dr. to Abercorn St. Topics include multi-use trail designs, landscape improvements, lighting designs, streetscape elements, safety technology, bike-friendly infrastructure, and more. Public input will help shape plans to transform Montgomery Cross Rd., currently a 5-lane roadway with limited sidewalks and landscaping and no dedicated bicycle facilities, into a safer, more equitable boulevard for everyone.
“The City of Savannah is known for its beautiful, walkable streets; unfortunately, that is not the case everywhere in our city," said Savannah City District 4 Alderman Nick Palumbo. "The new plans for Montgomery Cross Rd. could change everything. I look forward to meeting with the community as we reimagine Montgomery Cross Rd. not only as a place to go through but also a place to come to.”
