City of Savannah Presents ‘These Three Words’ Stage Drama Focusing on Theater with Purpose
Wednesday, October 28th, 2026
The City of Savannah's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE), through its youth theater initiative, Young Artists of Savannah United (YASU), invites community members, families, educators, youth advocates, and supporters of the Arts to attend an evening of local, live theater.
ONSE and YASU present “These Three Words,” an original stage play written by Winsphere Jones. The production, which invites audiences to look beyond outward behavior and consider the experiences, emotions, and circumstances that influence the choices of young people, takes place on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Otis S. Johnson Cultural Arts Center located at 201 Montgomery St., in Savannah. This is a free community event, and attendees are encouraged to reserve seats in advance by visiting: https://
At the center of the story is a group of young people participating in a theater program led by Fiona Brooks, an instructor who believes the stage can be much more than a place to perform. Through acting exercises, personal revelations, and shared experiences, the students begin to confront struggles that have shaped their lives. Their stories remind audiences behind every unique personality, perceived outburst, or guarded expression may be a deeper story waiting to be heard.
Along with Sylvia Moore, a mother fighting to rebuild her estranged relationship with daughter, Joyful, and other characters, audiences are prompted to understand healing requires honesty, patience, and the willingness to confront painful truths. As part of YASU’s commitment to youth empowerment and violence prevention, These Three Words reflects the belief that creative expression can help young people develop empathy, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and make positive decisions through trust, accountability, and forgiveness.
