Construction Starts on Statesboro’s First Kroger

Construction has started at the future site of Statesboro’s first Kroger.
The ceremonial groundbreaking took place Wednesday. Community leaders, construction partners and company representatives grabbed shovels at the ceremony.
Building the 99,000-square-foot store is expected to take a year. The store should open in fall of 2027.
The new store is expected to create 300 to 400 jobs.
