Experience Michelangelo’s Masterpieces Right Here in Savannah

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, October 9th, 2026

You don’t have to travel to Italy to experience the work of one of the world’s most celebrated Renaissance artists. Michelangelo’s Women: Images of Female Power and Divinity from the Casa Buonarroti opens October 9, 2026, at Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center and runs through January 24, 2027.

Featuring drawings, poetry, and letters from the historic collections of Michelangelo’s own family—including works never before seen in the United States—the exhibition offers a fresh look at the powerful women who inspired his art and helped preserve his legacy. Visitors can also explore reproductions of the Sistine Chapel ceiling and Last Judgment for a closer look at the women featured in these iconic works.

Make plans to enjoy this remarkable opportunity right here in our community. Bring a friend, plan a family outing, or take time to explore on your own at the Jepson Center, 207 W. York St., open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with holiday exceptions. Admission is free for Telfair Museums members, and general admission tickets are available online or at the museum.
