Nickel Refinery Bryan County Fought Off Announces Move to Mississippi

Westwin Elements announced they have selected Natchez, Mississippi, for a nickel refinery after facing opposition to a proposed site in Bryan County.

The company plans to invest $502 million over five years to build the refinery. Westwin said the first phase would create 134 full-time jobs, with average annual salaries of about $84,000.

The company has secured a long-term lease and is targeting a 2029 startup.
