River Street Sweets, Savannah’s original candy store, is celebrating 10 years of giving back through its annual Pralines Day campaign, which supports the Kids Cafe program at Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. With this year’s donation of more than $21,000, River Street Sweets has reached a significant milestone,
helping provide a total of 556,899 meals to children in need over the past decade.

The Pralines Day campaign, held each June, has raised funds to help provide nutritious meals for children participating in the Kids Cafe program. The 10-year achievement reflects River Street Sweets’ ongoing commitment to supporting local families and making a meaningful difference in the community.

“As leaders in the hospitality business, giving back is a priority for us,” said Jennifer Strickland, co-owner of River Street Sweets. “Our River Street Sweets family and our franchise brand are proud to help children and families in
need,” adds sibling and co-owner Tim Strickland.

A check presentation celebrating this year’s donation and the 10-year milestone will take place on October 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, located at 1380 Chatham Parkway in Savannah.

The Kids Cafe program provides after-school meals, tutoring and a safe, supportive environment for at-risk children. Locally administered through Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, the program helps ensure children
have access to nutritious food and opportunities to thrive.

Through its annual Pralines Day campaign, River Street Sweets continues to turn a beloved Savannah tradition into a meaningful way to support children and families throughout the community.
