Over 300 local business owners and entrepreneurs packed the Civic Center ballroom Wednesday for the Mayor’s Small Business Conference.
“Small businesses are at the very heart of our local economy. Whether you hire 1, 2, or 20 people, you are making great contributions toward the financial health and prosperity of our community, and that’s why it’s important to me to see you succeed,” said Mayor Edna Jackson.
Panelists included representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration and several local business owners. Robert “Bob” James, President of Carver State Bank and Chairman of the Savannah Economic Development Authority delivered the keynote address.
The City recently relaunched the business portion of its website, to make the site more accessible and user-friendly. Information about key incentives, how to start a business and other business support programs is available at savannahga.gov/business.
