The Jenkins Athletic Club, a nonprofit providing a range of youth athletic programs and facilities for Savannah’s youth since 1933, is pleased to announce registration is now open for its second annual sporting clays fundraiser, "Clays for Kids”. Hosted by the Jenkins Athletic Club board of directors, this fun, annual event will take place on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Forest City Gun Club.

Proceeds from last year’s “Clays for Kids” event helped the Club meet several critical objectives. With the addition of girls’ programs, the former boys-only club rebranded and changed its name to the Jenkins Athletic Club. With this came the need for new signage. The organization replaced its exterior signage on the front of the building to reflect this historic change, as well as replaced its street signage with a new LED display sign, which also enables the Club to thank its contributors and post activities.

In addition, the Club’s exterior, interior hallway and gymnasium got a fresh coat of paint and new LED lights, as well as new padding along the walls of the gym. Last, but not least, the JAC’s gym floor was completely refinished and is now one of the finest gymnasiums in the area.

“The 2017 ‘Clays for Kids’ event helped tremendously to fund these critical projects to ensure our organization continues to thrive and offer our athletes the kind of facilities and programs they deserve.” Said Don Smith, Jenkins Athletic Club Board President, “However, we still have much to do. We’re extremely grateful to all of our contributors and looking forward to an exciting 2018 event!”
