Cheyenne Overby Named Tournament Director for the Web.com Tour’s Savannah Golf Championship

The Savannah Golf Championship announced that Cheyenne Overby has been named Tournament Director for the Web.com Tour event which debuted in March at The Landings Club. The event will return to Deer Creek Golf Course the week of March 25-31, 2019. Overby helped lead the inaugural Savannah Golf Championship as part of the PGA TOUR’s Executive Director Initiative, which develops candidates to lead a PGA TOUR co-sanctioned event within a specific timeframe.
Before entering the program, Overby worked for The American Cancer Society for five years. During her 10 years working with charities, Overby has helped Warrick Dunn Charities and the United Way of Greater Austin reach their charitable goals.
“We are excited to have Cheyenne as our Tournament Director for the Savannah Golf Championship,” said Web.com Tour President Dan Glod. “Her background, experience and familiarity with this tournament puts us in a strong position for success, and we look forward to her leadership in continuing to help us grow this tournament for our fans, corporate partners and The Landings Club community.”
Overby, a native of Tampa, Florida, graduated from Florida State University, where she was active in the
community and volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. During her stint with The American Cancer Society, she managed five volunteer leadership teams and surpassed her current-year goals for four consecutive years.
“Having overseen the Savannah Golf Championship in 2018, I understand what this tournament brings to Savannah and Southeast Georgia,” said Tim Iley, who launched the inaugural Savannah Golf Championship as Executive Director. “Savannah, along with The Landings Club, is a great fit for a Web.com Tour event and I believe Cheyenne will be successful making this one of the premier tournaments on the schedule for years to come.”
